Emergency Transport Scheme (ETS) Project; Volunteer Day Celebration
Volunteer Day Celebration is a yearly event organized to appreciate ETS volunteer drivers for their selfless service to saving the lives of pregnant women and encouraging their uptake of maternal health services through the use of affordable and timely transportation services provided by National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
This year’s celebration was carried out, successfully, in three clusters in Adamawa state to recognize and reward all volunteer drivers for their efforts in the year, 2016. The event which held from 20th to 24th March, 2017, was attended by stakeholders from Adamawa State Ministry of Health, Women Affairs, Transport, Community/Religious/Traditional leaders, FBOs, Women groups, security agencies and the representative of her Excellency, the Wife of the Executive Governor of the state. The event brought together 640 volunteer drivers and 45 stakeholders in all the clusters.
