DFID Maternal Newborn and Child Health Programme (MNCH2)
DFID Maternal Newborn and Child Health programme (MNCH2) is a five year country led, UK government funded healthcare programme working in 159 LGAs in six supported states of Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, Jigawa and Yobe.
MNCH2 aims to improve health status of women and enhance child survival, through a combination of demand creation, addressing supply side and strengthening health systems through innovative strategies. For successful implementation;
• MNCH2 utilizes the FMOH REW strategy
• It focuses on Integrated MNCH training and service delivery models
• Intervening in 159 comprehensive/general hospitals and 795 primary health care facilities from six wards per LGA
• Works with community organizations, local, and state government, health practitioners and more, to achieve its goals and objectives of improving lives of women, children and families.
