Topmal antimalarial drug is used for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated malaria infections due to Plasmodium falciparum in patients of 5 kg bodyweight and above. The different variants are TopMal 20/120mg and TopMal Double strength 80/480mg Tablets.

For the Topmal 20/120mg the different types are TopMal Dispersible 1*6, TopMal Dispersible 1*12, TopMal ACT 4*24 Tablets.

TopMal antimalarial drug contains a fixed combination of two antimalarial active ingredients, artemether (artemisinin derivative) and lumefantrine, which is the recommendation by The World Health Organization as the artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) for the treatment of malarial.

The TopMal antimalarial tablets are usually prescribed to children based on the weight of the child taking the drug. If an adult is required to TopMal 20/120, the dosage is usually four tablets every eight hours for the first day, then twelve hours subsequently.

The TopMal 80/480 tablets is prescribed for adults only and is usually TopMal ACT 1*6 tablets, taken one tablet every eight hours for the first day and subsequently every twelve hours.
