Bernie Gager is a Sierra Leonean who started her professional career in the education sector as a qualified Secondary School Teacher in Sierra Leone. She moved into Social Work with master’s degree in Social Work and Community Development and a second Masters in Global Health Policy. Over a period of 22years in Nigeria Bernie she has devoted her professional time and extensive experience in HIV and AIDS prevention and promotion of gender equity; working with and through grass roots organisations supporting them to build their capacity as individuals and strengthening organisational systems and structures to be functional to deliver their mandates. She is an enthusiastic and passionate advocate in promoting Human Rights, diversity, and social inclusion, for improved policy environment where individuals are empowered to be self –sustaining and being their own agencies.

Bernie is currently an independent consultant providing short- and long-term services for both National, International Organizations/ NGOs and CSOs.
