The Society for Family Health (SFH) has embarked on an adolescent-friendly campaign against HIV/AIDS by engaging young persons in the campaign as doctors and support providers for those infected.

SFH focuses on 6 key areas, each area has been carefully identified and selected as an area that greatly affects and can make a difference in the health of vulnerable families across the globe.
The Society for Family Health (SFH) launched its Safe Water System project in 2004, with the goal of reducing childhood morbidity and mortality, while minimising diarrhoeal disease among the general population as a whole and continues to implement safe water system projects nationwide.
The overall goal of the project is to reduce HIV/AIDS-related mortality and morbidity. SFH is responsible for objective 2 of the program, which aims at expanding access to HIV testing and counseling services to cover all 37 States of the country.
To achieve Malaria prevention and treatment, SFH works closely with the Federal Ministry of Health on technical matters, education, training, and coordinating policy and research. The society for Family Health (SFH) is dedicated to improving the health of mothers
SFH has worked with partners to strengthen MNCH by delivering evidence-based, scalable programs that affect women and children’s lives, and strengthen thought leadership and policy reforms across the MNCH spectrum.
The Society for Family Health supports the government to improve access to essential health information, services, and products to motivate the adoption of healthy behaviors, support Primary Health Care delivery systems
One of the founding principles of SFH was to promote and support the practice of Child Spacing through Family planning; spacing births for three to five years to allow children to develop and grow while allowing mothers to recover between pregnancies.
SFH as a global organisation works with and is being funded by a variety of bilateral and multilateral agencies
SFH started as a Nigerian non-governmental organisation (NGO) working in partnership with communities, government, donors and the private sector for universal health coverage and social justice of all Nigerians. We deploy health system strengthening and total market approaches in a bid to unify the private and public health sectors to scale an Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS) offering of good quality to all Nigerians.
Danlami, and his wife Laraba live in Wukari LGA of Taraba State. His wife Laraba was found and approached by one of the Lafiyan Yara mobilizers (Village health Worker) and they got along quite easily. The mobilizer who is also a mentor mother by the name Habiba noticed Laraba was heavily pregnant and on further inquiries realised that she was in her 3rd trimester.
In December 2019, the world woke up to news of the Coronavirus outbreak. The virus which originated from the Wuhan district of the Peoples Republic of China has several similarities with the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak in China in the year 2003.
Becoming a peer educator on SFH’s MTV SHUGA PROJECT, made me realise that most problems adolescent’s in my community face are a result of; lack of good communication between them and their parents, lack of courage to discuss problems with their parents, and harsh treatment from their parents when sensitive issues are discussed.
Body image really has to do with how comfortable or uncomfortable you are with you in your own skin. It is how you see yourself when you look in the mirror or when you picture yourself in your mind. Body Image encompasses: What you believe about your own appearance; How you feel about your body, including your height, shape, and weight; How you physically experience or feel in your body.
